First elected to represent the district in 1994, he served until 2002 before returning in 2015 after winning election in 2014, and he now proudly serves as Speaker Pro Tempore of the Alabama House of Representatives since 2023—bringing decades of experience to fight for the values that matter most to south Alabama families.
